Acceleration of KEK Formation in Surabaya Gresik Industrial Area JIIPE: From Meetings to Field Visits

Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate or JIIPE in Gresik Regency is a valuable asset in increasing economic value through investment and opening new jobs. To encourage entrepreneurs and capital owners to invest in JIIPE, JIIPE's management plans to propose its area as a Special Economic Zone or KEK Technology and Manufacturing. The planned development of the JIIPE area to become a Special Economic Zone (KEK) in the field of Technology and Manufacturing has the support of a number of parties. Most recently, the Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia, Managing Director of Pelindo III Doso Agung along with the Directors of JIIPE and local Forkompimda ranks, Saturday (14/03), visited JIIPE to conduct a coordination meeting to accelerate the formation of JIIPE as a Special Economic Zone (KEK) for Technology and Manufacturing. Not only conducting coordination meetings, they also conduct field visits in the JIIPE industrial area. One of the locations visited was PT Freeport Indonesia's prospective smelter area of 100 hectares in the JIIPE area. The group then continued their visit to the JIIPE port area which is operated by PT Berlian Manyar Sejahtera (BMS).
