Gresik, Indonesia – October 31, 2024 – In a move to strengthen economic ties and support Indonesia’s position as a leading investment hub in Southeast Asia, the Singapore Ambassador to Indonesia, H.E. Kwok Fook Seng, visited the Java Integrated Industrial & Ports Estate (JIIPE), designated as the Gresik Special Economic Zone (SEZ). This visit highlights the strong commitment of both countries to promote the development of innovative and sustainable industrial zones.
Ambassador Kwok Fook Seng expressed his admiration for JIIPE’s progress, noting that “The integration concept implemented here is impressive, and the rapid project realization is a tangible testament to the commitment of AKR Corporindo and PELINDO, alongside the support of the Indonesian government, in delivering world-class facilities. JIIPE’s comprehensive infrastructure is strategically positioned to support Indonesia’s economic growth and attract global investment.”
As Indonesia’s top Special Economic Zone for industry, JIIPE has successfully established an integrated industrial ecosystem that combines port facilities, manufacturing infrastructure, and modern logistics. This development serves as a symbol of strategic partnership between Indonesia and Singapore, making JIIPE an attractive destination for global companies focused on sustainability and long-term growth in Southeast Asia.
Haryanto Adikoesoemo, President Director of AKR, also emphasized the importance of international partnerships in JIIPE’s development. “As a subsidiary of AKR, JIIPE plays a strategic role in our vision to strengthen Indonesia’s industrial infrastructure. Also present at the event, Bambang Soetiono, President Director of JIIPE, stated, “The visit of Singapore’s Ambassador is an honor for us. We are optimistic that collaboration between JIIPE and Singapore will further strengthen the Gresik Special Economic Zone’s position as a hub for sustainable investment and industrialization in Indonesia.”
