TIMESINDONESIA, GRESIK - Residents of Manyarejo Village, Gresik Regency, East Java, are trained in entrepreneurship. They were trained to use cooking oil waste into washing soap.
The trick, cooking oil waste soaked in smoldering charcoal for one night. After that NaOH chemicals are mixed as well as coloring agents and deodorizers. Then the cooking oil waste is stirred so that the mixture is evenly distributed. If the soap mixture has been planted, pour the mixture into the prepared mold.
Soap that comes out of the mold must pass through the curing period for six weeks. After going through this process, soap can be used immediately.
Responding to the training on the utilization of cooking oil waste into washing soap, Manyarejo Yudiono Village Head said dozens of people were invited to learn about the use of waste in the local village hall.
"There are dozens of people who come, from various communities in the village," he said, Monday (07/29/2019).
Yudioni hopes, after participating in this training the residents can be more independent and can gain knowledge for entrepreneurship and realize thematic villages.
"Hopefully the residents can use it for independent entrepreneurship, of course we will support it," he added.
Meanwhile, PT Berkah Kawasan Manyar Sejahtera Communication (Management of Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate or JIIPE) Mifti Haris explained that this training program was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of the company.
Haris added, through this activity, it is hoped that communities around the JIIPE area can utilize household waste into high value goods.
"This is one of our efforts to empower people. This is by utilizing cooking oil waste into washing soap," he said.
Mifti hopes that after this training is conducted, the community can develop and be able to realize independence. "The point is we hope this program is sustainable," he hoped after reviewing the training on the utilization of cooking oil waste into washing soap in Gresik.
