The regional government has an important role in preventing and controlling Covid-19, including those located in industrial estates.
The manufacturing industry sector is entering a new normal era to restore the national economy. The manufacturing industry is a sector that has become one of the main drivers for economic growth. The industrial sector is still the biggest contributor to the structure of the national gross domestic product (GDP) to 19.98 percent in the first quarter of 2020.
Industrial estates that have obtained operating permits are required to implement health protocols for all employees who work, such as keeping a distance, wearing masks, and behaving clean and healthy. This is in accordance with the rules contained in Circular of the Minister of Industry Number 4 of 2020 concerning Implementation of Factory Operations in the Covid-2019 Public Health Emergency Period.
Efforts to restore industrial estate activities during the current Covid-19 pandemic, and the Ministry of Industry will continue to coordinate with regard to these efforts including socializing health protocols in the recovery period of industrial estate activities.
East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial estate in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for yachts and housing with an environmentally friendly industrial area, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as golf courses and shopping centers within the industrial estate.
